Hanging Rings
The Hanging Rings is another activity we like to use our Grapat Rings from our Nins Carla set for. You can tie just about anything, but these rings are easier for little ones to practice grabbing. Just make sure any smaller items are tied securely. A fun variation of this is with balloons or items that make noise when hit.
Materials:
Baby gym
Ribbon or string
Objects to tie on
How to set up:
Tie objects securely with the string or ribbon
Create a few different heights but not too low so that baby needs to stretch to reach the objects.
Space items evenly and be sure not to overcrowd them.
Position baby gym over baby’s chest.
Our son was 6 months old in this video
Great for:
Hand-eye coordination is required in everyday tasks such as grasping objects, handwriting, playing games, eating and cooking. As with other body skills, hand-eye coordination can be practised and improved upon. This development begins in infancy.
Motor Skills enable children to move and complete tasks independently which in turn will allow them to explore the world around them. This independence gives them confidence and promotes cognitive, speech and sensory development.
Focus and concentration help children to learn. Most skills are learned by practising them over and over, so being able to block out distractions and focus on particular tasks will help the rate in which they learn.
