Are you looking for ways to supporting your child’s development but aren’t sure how?

3-4 Number Flashcards.jpg

By age three, approximately 80% of a child's brain development has already occurred. This critical early period establishes the foundation for their cognitive abilities, communication skills, and social interactions. Studies indicate that high-quality experiences during these formative years significantly influence a child's capacity to learn, adapt, and achieve success—both academically and throughout their lifetime. Establishing strong developmental foundations during these crucial early years provides children with the best possible start in life.

At just 2 years old, our daughter has blossomed under Sharon’s nurturing and engaging approach, and the progress she’s made in her development has been remarkable.

Developmental Play Sessions

I offer small-group and 1:1 play-based sessions designed to build confidence and support a smooth transition into a structured learning environment.

Tailored for children aged 12 months to 3 years, activities are carefully chosen to encourage hand–eye coordination and bilateral coordination—both essential for everyday tasks such as eating, dressing, and eventually writing. Sessions also develop fine and gross motor skills, along with balance and body control, helping children build the strength and control needed to stay engaged during seated tasks.

Sessions introduce early literacy and numeracy concepts through fun, interactive games that build focus, problem-solving skills, and confidence. With personalised support and close collaboration with parents, I nurture each child’s curiosity and love of learning while laying a strong foundation for the next stage, whether preparing for 4+ assessments or starting school.

Sessions run during term time with some holiday availability.

Our Programmes:

12 to 18 Months:

Hands-on activities designed to strengthen hand-eye coordination while encouraging early thinking skills such as observation, reasoning, and problem-solving—all essential for healthy cognitive development.

19 to 24 Months:

Engaging play that supports the development of fine and gross motor skills while encouraging detailed observation and longer attention spans. Activities such as puzzles, colour matching, and object transferring help children build coordination, visual discrimination, and sustained focus through purposeful play.

25 to 30 Months:

Interactive sessions that introduce early math concepts and phonics sounds, while developing problem-solving and logical thinking skills. Games and activities involve counting, sorting, size discrimination, observation, and hand-strengthening tasks, helping build a solid foundation for both numeracy, literacy, and cognitive growth through hands-on exploration.

4+ Preparation:

Sessions introducing early phonics, number recognition, and problem-solving skills while continuing to strengthen fine motor development and critical thinking. Designed with 4+ assessments in mind, they gently prepare children for more structured learning by building confidence, focus, and familiarity with key learning concepts through engaging, play-based activities.

“Our child looks forward to every lesson, and it has been amazing to see their confidence, focus, and foundational skills grow in such a short time.”

“I only wish Sharon’s playgroups had been available for my eldest, because the impact on my youngest has been incredible. She has grown into a confident, well-rounded child, and her transition into pre-school has been seamless.”

“We are beyond grateful for the incredible support and guidance our child has received from Sharon. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to their learning journey!”

“Thanks to Sharon, we feel so much more prepared and optimistic about the upcoming assessments. She makes each session not only educational but also fun.”

About →

I was never the naturally ‘fun’ parent, and engaging young children didn’t always come naturally to me. When my daughter was born, I was told that as she grew, I would evolve too. Out of desperation, I started looking for ways to keep her interested and stimulated through play. What began as a search for better toys quickly grew into something much bigger — discovering activities, resources, and approaches to encourage focus, curiosity, and a love of learning.
